Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor Tells Crowd: We Don’t Work For You, You Work For Us
COLUMBUS– Yesterday, at an event in Columbiana County, Mary Taylor and John Kasich spoke to a crowd of supporters at the Spread Eagle Tavern. While introducing Governor Kasich, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor said to the crowd:
“Now I’m taking the Governor’s speech. But what he’ll tell you is we need to get reelected to make sure that we, we have reestablished the culture in government, reestablished the culture in Columbus so that when we leave, their attitude is WE DON’T WORK FOR YOU, YOU WORK FOR US. No other way around. It’s a long day the governor has never said that by the way John– you’ve never said that, by the way… See the other way around… you.. how does this go, we work for you, you don’t work for us. It’s been a long day, see, if you spend too much time in Columbus and your people down there get you convinced that it is the other way around.”
In response, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern released the following statement:
“Once in awhile, the Kasich administration accidentally reveals their true colors: Kasich works hard for his wealthy and well-connected friends and campaign contributors at the expense of working people in Ohio. Taylor’s defense will be that she corrects herself, but as she stumbles through her explanation, it becomes incredibly clear why these Republican officials refuse to have an unfiltered public debate.”
