The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus met with candidates for the next Ohio Democratic Party Chairmanship yesterday for a frank discussion on the issues affecting African Americans.
The disappointing results of the mid-term election will produce major changes in the leadership ranks of the Ohio Democratic Party, including the chairmanship. Prior to these momentous changes, we members of the Democratic Congressional delegation wish to go on record as supporting a deliberative and inclusive process that respects the various members of the Democratic family.

Over the last year there have been many discussions about how we elect more Democrats in Ohio and the way we run our elections. As President of the Chairs Association, many of you have come to me to discuss solutions and present ideas. I’ve listened and welcomed your suggestions and thought the ideas presented had a lot of merit. I’ve also responded that we have an election to win and the Party was doing as well as expected with the resources available.
COLUMBUS – Today, the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in the Ohio Supreme Court against State Treasurer Josh Mandel over his refusal to comply with his legal obligation to provide copies of requested public records for nearly two months regarding his taxpayer-funded tele-town halls and his office’s involvement to assist corrupt businessman and Mandel donor Benjamin Suarez.
