Today, the John Patrick Carney campaign for Ohio Auditor of State announced that it pulledin more than $180,000 in just more than a month, bringing the campaign total to more than $1 million to elect John Patrick Carney. The campaign also reports since April 24, its cash on hand has remained stable at more than $736,000.
In response, campaign manager Brendan Kelley released the following statement:
“John Patrick Carney and the entire campaign are working hard to make sure people across Ohio know that John is on their side and will continue strengthening communities by showing where tax dollars are going. I see support for John Patrick Carney growing every day, with every trip. The proof is in the numbers and we are consistently hitting our targets. This campaign is well-positioned to win on Election Day.”
BACKGROUND
· John Patrick Carney outraised Republican incumbent Auditor Dave Yost in the past three filing periods.
· In the last annual report released on April 24, Carney outraised Yost more than 2:1.
BY COMPARISON
· At this point in the auditor’s race four years ago, candidate Dave Yost reported raising just barely more than $50,000.
