Volunteers now have petitions! Despite what the GOP ad says – The proposed amendment language has nothing to do with gender reassignment surgery. Every registered Ohioan should have the right to vote yes or no on this issue by placing it on the November 2023 General Election ballot. Every individual has a right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions, including but not limited to decisions on: contraception; fertility treatment; continuing one’s own pregnancy; miscarriage care; and abortion. There are now about 125,000 fewer registered voters in the state after Secretary of State Frank LaRose removed names from the active voter rolls. If an Ohioan has moved or hasn’t participated in elections in the past six years, the state may have removed the person’s name from the  voter file; thus, the action affects the individual’s ability to vote.

Former Republican Ohio House speaker Larry Householder and former Ohio Republican Party chairman Matt Borges face up to 20 years in prison in racketeering conspiracy case tied to House Bill 6 and FirstEnergy. Both Householder and Borges were found guilty on racketeering charges for their involvement in a $60 million racketeering conspiracy to pass the controversial nuclear bailout bill (HB6) in Ohio. This verdict is a successful example of holding public officials accountable and achieving justice for all Ohioans who are still paying for the scandal-ridden HB6 bailout. All elected officials should take heed: Justice will be served.

Columbus, OH – The Cleveland.com editorial board pulled no punches, saying Joe Deters was a ‘mistaken choice’ for the Ohio Supreme Court. The editorial board pointed out that Deters has ‘zero judicial experience,’ that Deters enjoys a close, personal relationship with Governor Mike DeWine – and his family – who appointed him and that there are ‘many conflicts and questions about Deters’ qualifications and past service.’
