The disappointing results of the mid-term election will produce major changes in the leadership ranks of the Ohio Democratic Party, including the chairmanship. Prior to these momentous changes, we members of the Democratic Congressional delegation wish to go on record as supporting a deliberative and inclusive process that respects the various members of the Democratic family.

Over the last year there have been many discussions about how we elect more Democrats in Ohio and the way we run our elections. As President of the Chairs Association, many of you have come to me to discuss solutions and present ideas. I’ve listened and welcomed your suggestions and thought the ideas presented had a lot of merit. I’ve also responded that we have an election to win and the Party was doing as well as expected with the resources available.

The best-known job of Ohio’s secretary of state is to be the state’s chief elections officer. Even though incumbent Republican Jon Husted has handled all other aspects of the job with distinction over the past four years – including the practical side of elections management – and even though he has been a voice of reason on redistricting reform, his miscues, mistakes and outright partisan manipulation of the state’s early-voting rules disqualify him for a second term (highlights added).

Highlights Waste of Taxpayer Dollars
COLUMBUS– Tuesday, the Carney for Ohio campaign released its second television campaign ad in the Ohio State Auditor’s race. The commercial highlights the current Auditor’s hypocrisy when it comes to safeguarding taxpayer dollars. With taxpayer money, Dave Yost’s office spent $7-per-cup of coffee during a fraud and waste conference in February of 2012.
