Today, the Republican Governors Association and the Ohio Republican Party launched a shameless personal attack at me and my family.

Their own emails show that it was an effort to uncover “dirt” about me from 2012. Instead, they uncovered nothing.

It’s this type of gutter tactics that turns people off of politics. It is shameful that Governor Kasich has refused to condemn this attack.Ohio deserves better. We deserve a leader with the integrity take the high road – and we deserve a campaign worthy of the problems our state faces.

I’m not letting this dirty attack distract from the real issue of this campaign: that Governor Kasich has sold Ohio out to the wealthiest and well-connected, leaving average Ohioans in the dust. That cuts to the local government fund have cost police officers and firefighters their jobs while making our communities less safe. That unaccountable, failing, for-profit charter schools are endangering our kids.
