Today, a federal judge announced that he will issue a ruling mandating that Ohio recognize same sex marriages performed out of state.

Governor Kasich has a long history of voting against shared benefits for domestic partners, and, in 2011, he used an executive order to sneak discriminatory policies against homosexual state-goverment employees past Ohioans.  In contrast, under Ed FitzGerald’s leadership, Cuyahoga County voted to give benefits to children of homosexual domestic partners.

Kasich Praises FitzGerald Convention Center Stewardship

“This is a great city with great assets and great neighborhoods and great people. If you have any doubt, just look around you today at this convention center.”

Last night during his speech at the Cleveland Convention Center before The Greater Cleveland Partnership, a regional partner of JobsOhio, Governor Kasich praised the Convention Center project, which Ed FitzGerald oversaw and ensured was completed ahead of schedule and under budget as Cuyahoga County Executive.

One-size doesn’t fit all – voting made harder, not easier

Despite touting his campaign slogan of “making it harder to cheat and easier to vote,” Jon Husted’s decision to restrict early voting on weekdays from 8am to 5pm and to cut Sunday voting simply ignores the realities of everyday, hard-working Ohioans. His one-size fits all directive doesn’t make it easier for ALL Ohioans to vote, it makes it harder.
