As a Washington insider for nearly three decades and as President George W. Bush’s U.S. Trade Representative and Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Rob Portman helped shepherd in the policies that caused the Great Recession, which decimated Ohio’s economy and left middle class families in the dust.
Portman’s dismal record in Washington:
As George W. Bush’s Trade Representative,
Portman called NAFTA “a proven success”,
even though it and other trade deals have been devastating
to good-paying jobs in Ohio.
50,000 jobs lost.
The manufacturing industry called Rob Portman a “dedicated outsourcer”.
85,000+ workers lost job training.
As George W. Bush’s Budget Director, Portman supported the President’s policies,
even though they favored the 1%, increased the deficit,
and left Ohio’s middle class families behind.
$500 Billion – with a ‘B’ – added to deficit.
Portman took a stand against the Ohio automotive industry,
believing “The Auto Bailout Was Not A Good Deal For Ohio.”
792,000 jobs at risk without the auto rescue.
As a Senator, Portman voted for the extreme Paul Ryan budget
that would end Medicare,
as well as make drastic cuts to Medicaid, costing Ohio jobs.
200,000+ jobs lost under Paul Ryan budget.
Along with his no votes, Portman has been an obstructionist in the Senate,
instead of working to find bipartisan agreements to create jobs.
He even voted against the American Jobs Act.
The obstructionist, opposing the creation of 40,700 jobs.
If Rob Portman had his way, there would be at least
1 Million
fewer jobs in Ohio.
It is time to send No Jobs Rob home.
No job for Rob.
